Lifeguard Certification
What is it?
The Excelsior Springs Community Center offers an incredible Lifeguard Certification course through the American Red Cross! Class participants receive hands-on training with an experienced instructor and are prepared to respond in aquatics emergencies. This certification lasts for 2 years and can be renewed within 30 days of its expiration. The American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification is widely accepted at various aquatics facilities nationwide! Upon hire, the ESCC will pay the full price of your Lifeguard certification- all you have to do is sign our Lifeguard Certification Contract!
What is the Lifeguard Certification Contract?
The Lifeguard Certification Contract simply states that the Excelsior Springs Community Center will pay the complete cost of your Lifeguarding certification, as long as you agree to stay on our team as a Lifeguard (and maintain good employment standing) for a minimum of 6 months and work an average of 10-15 hours per week.
How do I apply?
Want to be a Lifeguard for the Excelsior Springs Community Center? Here’s how it works: submit an application to be a Lifeguard either in person at our Front Desk or online at cityofesmo.com. We’ll give you a call and set up an interview!
What’s it like working as a Lifeguard at the ESCC?
A fun work environment and flexible scheduling are just a couple of things that set us apart! Here, you never quite know what the day will bring. One day you might be enjoying a typical shift, and the next you could be cheering on cardboard boat races, jumping into an event, or even dressing up like a mermaid! If you’re looking for a job where no two days are exactly alike, you might just fit right in!
