Competition Pool

In order to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons, we have established the following guidelines based on recommendations from the American Red Cross and USA Swimming governing bodies. 

Please read and adhere to these guidelines at all times while using the pool facilities. 

 

Outdoor Pool Guidelines: 

​

General Rules: 

  • All patrons must have a valid Community Center membership or must purchase a day pass to enter the pool.

  • Lifeguards have the authority to enforce all pool rules and may remove any individual who violates the rules or engages in unsafe behavior. 

  • Patrons must follow all lifeguard instructions promptly and respectfully. 

  • All patrons must shower before entering the water.

  • Pool users must wear appropriate swim attire. Street clothes, cutoffs, denim shorts, thong bathing suits, street shoes, or undergarments are not permitted in the pool. 

  • Children under the age of 14 must be supervised by a responsible guardian (18 years or older) at all times. 

  • Any person suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited from the entering pool. 

  • No oil-based suntan products; body lotions, oils, or other products, may be used.  

  • No running, rough play, or excessive noise is permitted in the pool area. 

  • No hanging or swimming over the lap lanes.

  • Underwater distance swimming and breath holding games are prohibited.

  • No glass containers or other breakable items are allowed in the pool area. 

  • All animals (with the exception of guide animals for the handicapped) are prohibited from entering the pool area 

  • No sitting on shoulders. 

  • The use of water guns or spraying toys is not allowed.

  • Anyone who is not potty trained, must wear a swim diaper. Regular diapers are not permitted in the water.

  • Diaper changing on the deck is prohibited. 

  • During peak hours, patrons must share lap lanes and circle swim.

  • Diving is only permitted in designated areas and under lifeguard supervision. 

  • Jumping is allowed only in designated areas and must be feet-first. 

  • Any kind of flips into the water are not allowed.

  • Total Bather Capacity is 212 Bathers

Floatation Devices and Toys: 

  • Only U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are permitted. Inflatable devices, water wings, and other non-approved floatation devices are not allowed. 

  • Those requiring a lifejacket must wear a provided red wrist band.

  • Kickboards are permitted for lap swimming only and may not be used during open swim or recreational activities.

  • Pool noodles are not permitted except during designated Aqua Fitness classes.

  • Dive toys are not allowed in the deep end of the pool (5 FT or less).

  • The use of water guns or spraying toys is not allowed.

Health and Safety: 

  • Anyone experiencing diarrhea, vomiting, or any contagious illness must not enter the pool. 

  • Individuals with open wounds or skin infections must refrain from using the pool. 

  • No spitting, nose-blowing, or urinating in the pool. 

  • Patrons with seizures, heart conditions, or other medical concerns should consult a physician before using the pool. 

  • If the pool water temperature is below 70 degrees, the pool will close until the temperature has risen. 


Diving Board:

  • No flotation devices of any kind are allowed on the diving board.

  • Any patron wearing or requiring a lifejacket cannot go off the diving board.

  • Only one person at a time can go off the diving board.

  • One person on the diving board platform at a time. 

  • Patrons must wait til the person in front of them is on the wall before jumping off the diving board.

Rock Wall:

  • No flotation devices of any kind are allowed on the rock wall.

  • Any patron wearing or requiring a lifejacket cannot use the rock wall

  • One person at a time on the rock wall.

  • Patrons must wait til the person in front of is clear from the splash zone before using the rock wall. 

  • No flips off the wall into the water.

  • Weight Limit is 350 lbs.

Inclement Weather Policy: 

In the event of inclement weather, the pool staff will monitor conditions and make decisions regarding pool closures. 

The pool will be cleared immediately, and all patrons must exit the facility if any of the following conditions occur: 

  1. Lightning is spotted or thunder is heard. 

  2. Heavy rain reduces visibility for lifeguards. 

  3. Hail, strong winds, or a tornado watch/warning is issued. 

  4. The pool will remain closed until 30 minutes after the last lightning strike or thunderclap, or until other hazardous conditions have passed. 

  5. If the pool remains closed for an extended period, the staff will update patrons with relevant information.
